Printed labels can help you identify items since typeface can be
easier to read than handwriting. Typed filing labels can make searching
for specific files a quick process, while typed address and return
labels can add a professional touch to your letters and mailings.
Microsoft Word 2007 can be used to create custom labels in a variety of
sizes.
Instructions
1.Open the Microsoft Word 2007 program on your computer by locating it under “Program Files” in your “Start” menu. Open a new blank document.
2.
Click on the “Mailings” tab at the top of the window, and then click on the button titled “Labels” on the left-hand side of the Word task bar.
3.
Determine the label’s brand and product number by looking on the label packaging or the backside of the sheet for product information. Double-click in the area titled “Labels” and select your label type from the menu. If you cannot locate the product information or your label type is not included in the Microsoft templates, measure your labels and double-click within the “Label Information” section. Input the dimensions of your labels.
4.
Click the “New Document” button at the bottom of the window to create a blank label document with dimensions that fit your type of label.
5.
Insert your label text into the label template. Complete this step as many times as necessary to complete all of the labels that you need.
6.
Insert your label sheets into your printer’s feed tray. Print your labels by selecting the “Print” option from the “Office” menu at the upper left-hand corner of the window.
