To secure your computer or protect the access to your CMOS Setting, you always set password for your BIOS and just imagine if you forgot your BIOS Password, you wouldn’t be able to access your Windows after booting, so this is damn problem !

Don’t worry, in this tutorial, I show you some tips that help you to clear your BIOS Password without causing any danger to your computer.
Method 1 : To clear BIOS Password by removing the CMOS battery
  • You just power off your computer and open the system case and then try to find the CMOS Battery on the motherboard
  • Unplug the CMOS Battery for a while
  • Plug CMOS Battery again
  • Power on your computer.
  • The BIOS Password will be cleared. Please look at the below picture
Method 2 : Press ‘f’ and ‘j’ keys at the same time before starting your computer then start your computer , it will erase your BIOS Password.
Method 3 : Using “PC CMOS Cleaner” which is a free easy-to-use tool that lets you to recover, delete, decode and display the superior passwords stored in BIOS whatever the brand is. It’s a bootable CD that runs on 64 and 32 bit computers. But this method works unless your BIOS is set to boot from CD/DVD, so before setting password to BIOS, I recommend you to set your BIOS to boot from CD/DVD as first boot, second boot is from Hard Disk Drive ;)
  • Download PC CMOS Cleaner
  • After downloading, you’ll get ISO file, you just burn it to your CD (I recommend using Free ISO Burner)
  • So I should say that your BIOS is booted from CD/DVD
  • Insert the CD you burned and reboot your computer. The software then automatically runs
  • Here are screenshots from www.pccmos.com
1- Here is the first interface of PC CMOS Cleaner when you boot computer with CD you burned -> Click NEXT
2-  The tool tries to find the suitable password for you, if it finds ones, it will display it for you. Anyway, please remember that if you attempt to type wrong passwords more than 3 times, your whole system will be locked at least 24 hours wait and even permanent lockout on high security systems. So if you don’t want to try with these passwords, you could skip to another step -> Click NEXT

3- To clear your BIOS Password, I recommend to click on CHOICE 2 -> Yes to confirm -> Exit
